Neighborhood Stabilization Program

Each of the communities that Mecca represents offers a unique scenario to the implementation of their NSP. Specifics of their NSP programs are as follows:

Kokomo, Indiana

  • 14 single family home rehabilitations
  • 10 of 14 homes sold to families earning 50% AMI or below
  • Hired all local contractors to facilitate the rehabilitation


Elwood, Indiana

  • 10 Redevelopment for-sale units
  • 1 historic rehabilitation for sale unit
  • 75% of the units are marketed for individuals or families earning at or below 120% of the AMI and the balance (25%) for individuals or families earning at or below 50% AMI
  • Acquired properties include foreclosed, vacant and blighted properties within targeted area


Michigan City, Indiana

  • 5 new construction single family homes
  • Homes are slated for individuals with Section 8 Homeownership Vouchers from the Michigan City Housing Authority

 


Quincy, Illinois

  • 9 rehabilitation
  • 1 new contraction 4-plex


Chicago Heights, Illinois

  • 9 new construction single family homes


Dolton, Indiana

  • 5 new construction single family homes
  • 3 rehabilitation single family homes
  • 75% of the units are marketed for individuals or families earning at or below 120% of the AMI and the balance (25%) for individuals or families earning at or below 50% AMI


Richton Park, Illinois

  • 5 rehabilitation single family homes
  • 75% of the units are marketed for individuals or families earning at or below 120% of the AMI and the balance (25%) for individuals or families earning at or below 50% AMI
