Quincy, Illinois • 16 historic single-family rehabs for sale for families earning at or below 120% AMI

• 8 for-lease units for individuals earning at or below 50% AMI specifically for project partners:
• 4 units for the YWCA – battered women
• 4 new construction units (4-plex) for disabled persons (fully ADA accessible)
• Each home/lot will be purchased through the “fix or flatten” program as established by the City of Quincy City Council in 1995
• Of the 16 for-sale units, we will utilize the program income for additional neighborhood stabilization
• We are partnering with the Illinois Workforce Development to provide subsidy for on-site job training to underprivileged individuals within the targeted area
Each of the communities that Mecca represents offers a unique scenario to the implementation of their NSP. Specifics of their NSP programs are as follows:
Kokomo, Indiana
• 30 single-family rehabs
• 19 for-sale units for families earning at or below 120% of the AMI
• 11 for-lease units for individuals earning at or below 50% of the AMI
• Each home acquired will be in foreclosure status
• Of the 19 for-sale units, we will utilize the program income for additional neighborhood stabilization
Chicago Heights, Illinois
• 15 new construction for-sale units
• Achieving Land Use goals of the community by relocating existing tenants into a newly formed residential neighborhood and demolishing blighted structures for future industrial growth
• 75% of the units are for families earning at or below 120% AMI and the balance (25%) for families earning at or below 50%
Mecca offers a significant amount of experience in the affordable housing arena, including implementation and planning efforts of the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
